The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a home invasion on Monday (12/14) at the Seeley Road residence of an 88 year-old Williamson man.

It is alleged that Daniel J. Walsh, 23, of 1122 Jackson Road in Webster and Jacob M. Steurrys, age 22, of 2747 Seeley Road in Williamson, kicked open the door at a residence and entered the home. The two men were then met in the hallway by the elderly homeowner. They took the man to the ground and took two rings off the hand of the homeowner. No other items were taken. The two men then fled the scene on foot.

The homeowner was able to call 911 and deputies responded to the area. Deputies and police K9 were able to track the men back to an address close to the incident address.

Although the two were wearing hoodies at the time, the homeowner recognized Steurrys and picked him out during a photo line-up.
Walsh, who confessed to the crime, was located about 11 hours after the incident. Steurrys was taken into custody several hours later. One of the two rings was recovered.

Walsh and Steurrys were charged with Robbery in the second degree, Burglary in the second degree, and Criminal Mischief in the third degree.

Both were arraigned in front of the Town of Williamson Justice and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond.

Records indicated both Walsh and Stuerrys have minor misdemeanor arrests and convictions.
