Marion: Peacefully entered into rest with her family around her on February 9, 2016 at the age of 82. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John W. Ramsey, Jr. (Jay); sons, John W. III (Wes) (Johanna) Ramsey of Centerville, OH., and CMSGT Michael E. (CMSGT Melinda) Ramsey of Parish, NY; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 3 sisters, Barbara (Ronald) Gunton, Betty Simmons, Jo (Barney) Hunt; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Carol was a life-long educator of 37 years in the Marion Central School District. As a Cornell University graduate she was a lover of plants and nature and enjoyed bird watching whenever she could. As a leader in the field of education, Carol held many titles: Certified in Reading K-12, Common Branch Subjects and Elementary Supervision and Administration; Certified screener for Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome and also held the title of Past New York State President of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International an honorary International Society of Women Educators. Carol belonged to the American Association of University Women, Wayne County Literacy Volunteers, Marion Retired Teachers Association, Marion Historic Association, and many other organizations.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, March 26th in the United Church of Marion, 3848 N. Main St., Marion, NY.
