NEWARK: Age 91, died Sunday (May 22, 2016) at the DeMay Living Center. Mrs. O’Coyne was born on May 22, 1925 in Newark, the daughter of the late Ward and Kathryn Leahy Crider. She was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1943. Mary Ellen was a medical transcriber in the X-Ray Department at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for 32 years. She was a life long communicant of St. Michael’s Church. Mary Ellen was an avid reader and was devoted to animals. She especially enjoyed her home and family. She is survived by her children Daniel (Dorothy) O’Coyne of Clifton Springs and Donna (David) Fagner of Sodus Point; two grandchildren Kelly O’Coyne Huss (Joseph) and Katie O’Coyne Frechette (Jason); three great-grandchildren Joseph Jr.. and Sophie Huss, Jackson Frechette. Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband Maurice J. O’Coyne in 1955; sister Kathleen Morris and brother Gerald Crider. Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday (May 24th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Wednesday (May 25th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street. Newark. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Clifton Springs.
