EAST PALMYRA: Died on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 at the age of 93. Nora was born on September 3, 1922 in Rochester the daughter of William and Carrie Carr Russell. She was married to Frank Gorall on August 22, 1942 in Rochester, NY. Nora had worked for Sarah Coventry and Sibleys in Newark. She had been a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for over 20 years and a member of the East Palmyra Fire Dept. Auxiliary for over 60 years. Nora is perhaps best known for her amazing cooking and baking skills. “The cookie jar was never empty.” Mrs. Gorall was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2002; her son David in 2012 and sister Doris Smahol. She is survived by her daughters Noreene (David) Stahlecker, Margaret (James) Bennett and Kathleen (Terry Smith) Mashanic; sister Wilma Smith; daughter-in-law Cheryl Gorall; grandchildren Charlotte Woleslagle, Richard Bennett, Carrie Benjamin, Chad Murray, Aleasha Tooley, Vanessa Guay and Matthew Gorall and several great and great-great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-7pm on Friday, Aug. 26 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., 123 W. Main St., Palmyra, NY. Private burial will be in East Palmyra Cemetery.
