NEWARK: Age 72 entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Carolyn was born the daughter of the late Lawrence and Annette (Briggs) Young on Wednesday, June 16, 1943 in Rochester, NY. She graduated from Brighton High School and Wittenberg University where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She obtained a master’s degree from Nazareth College. Carolyn taught French, Spanish and Special Ed. in the Brighton School district for many years and then as a substitute teacher in the Newark School district until her retirement. Carolyn enjoyed reading, trips especially to Cape Cod and Galveston, and time at home with her beloved dog Saddie. She enjoyed watching Ron and his friends fly model airplanes at the Sky-rovers Aircraft Club. Church friends and activities at Park and Calvary were also very meaningful to her. She cherished time with her nephews and nieces.Carolyn will be remembered by her loving husband of 36 years, Ronald L. Wahl; brother Anderson (Mary) Young of Cortland, NY; sisters Beverly (Dave) McCormick of Galveston, TX and Margie Young of Durham, NC; several nieces and nephews; many brothers and sisters-in-law and cousins. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends may gather for a Memorial Service on Thursday, (April 14) at 1 p.m. at Park Presbyterian Church – Chapel, Maple Court in Newark.
