The Wayne County Office of Sheriff reported the additional arrests of four people for distributing counterfeit money.
Candice Smith, age 18, of Remington Street in Rochester, Essence House, age 20 of Murray Street in Rochester, Christopher Sherman, age 20 of VanAuker Street in Rochester, and Arthur Blay of Concord New Hampshire, were originally arrested on Tuesday (4/10) at 7:36 p.m. for distributing a counterfeit $50 bill the Dollar General store in the Town of Sodus.
The suspects were located a short distance from the store after a traffic stop. All four were charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the first degree and Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree. The four were originally arraigned in the Sodus Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash/$20,000 bond.
In the following days, more counterfeit bills were discovered had been passed at the Speedy’s Mobile gas station on Route 104 in the Town of Sodus; the Dollar general Store in Williamson and the Rite Aid store in Williamson.
All four were again charged with additional Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree and Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree for each case and remanded back to jail on $5000 cash each. More charges are expected in other municipalities.
